Demographics

Murrieta boasts very attractive demographics.  Its growing population is heavily family-oriented, with children aged 0 to 14 and adults aged 35 to 49 comprising the base of the population.  Family incomes are heavily concentrated in the $35,000-$75,000 per year "middle income" range.  Murrieta's residents are more likely to be college-educated than in comparable cities, and they are more intensively of Hispanic origin.

Meanwhile, for Riverside County as a whole, while average rates of growth of payroll employment have been the highest in the state, unemployment rates are relatively high as well.  The unemployment rates are not a sign of a weak economy, but rather an indication of a dynamic, relatively plentiful workforce.
